
Pyrus communis'Bartlett'
Once known as 'William's' Bon Chretien or Good Christian, renamed at an estate in Massachusetts by Enoch Bartlett who thought the pear was his own discovery, calling it after himself. A much loved pear, used for canning and fresh eating. Harvest in late August or September.
Glorious white blossoms are admired by bees as well as humans in spring. Plant with other pears for best pollination. Bell shaped fruit. Simple glossy leaves. Prefers full sun and well drained soils.
