Pinus resinosa
Dark green thick needles grow in bundles of two. As trees age the bark has hints of red emerging out of deep cracks. Thought to have been pushed to near extinction in recent times due to the lack of genetic diversity. This tree is a symbol of the north, of cottage life and the wild that loves to nest in its branches and pick the seeds out of its cones. A robust grower that can be used as a windbreak. Likes to be grown in the open. Resistant to fire.
