Named after the National British Pear Conference where it was the first prize winner in 1885. Developed by Francis Rivers in Sawbridgeworth Hertfordshire. Bottle shaped, thick greenish-brown skin with white flesh that becomes pale yellow when ripe. Can become russetted in certain weather patterns. Resistant to scab. Produces better with a companion.
