Carya cordiformis
Native hardwood. Most northern member of the Pecan family. Bright yellow buds add subtle colour to the winter forest. Greyish green bark matures into shallow fissures. Tolerates shade in mixed woods. Sold as seedling due to its fast growing tap root.
