Symphytum officinale
Used as a dynamic accumulator in permaculture practices. Comfrey breaks up compacted soils and draws up nutrients from deep below. Leaves are used in compost teas and make a great addition to compost piles. In traditional herbal medicine practices roots and leaves are used externally for bones, bruises and sprains. Flowers are delicious in salads and attract many kinds of bees.
