Cornus sericea
Grows in rich poorly drained locations. Multi-stemmed shrub with wood bright red, adds much needed colour to the drab pallet of winter. Clusters of creamy white flowers. Small white berries are a favourite of native bird populations. Thrives in soils disturbed by fire. Used for erosion control. Stems can be made into baskets.
